The
Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications
Commission (CRTC) will hear an application by the World
Télémonde network (WTM), in Hull, Quebec, on Tuesday,
June 19, 2001.
World Télémonde will be a unique national
television service with modified dual carriage on
Canadian cable and direct-to-home systems.
What
does this mean to Canadians?
For
the first time, all Canadians will have access to the
world’s best in television in its original voices with
state-of-the-art subtitles in English and/or French.
WTM
is “the whole world of television” – global,
entertaining, inclusive, direct, accessible and also
uniquely Canadian.
